SKYLAR MICHAELS Well ill still say that you shine brighter than anyone Little rays of sun were coming in through the cracks of her closed windows. She moaned and got up, today she was going to relax just like every single day she had been since she got on this cruise. Skylar got up and got ready taking a shower, brushing her teeth, brushing her hair, and putting on her baithing suit. She slung a small bag over her shoulder as she inserted her headphones into her ears and she turned her ipod on. Inside the bag contained a some clothes, her cell phone, and other necessities that she might need after she decided she would leave the pool and do something else.
It was a bright sunny day on the ocean and the rays were pouring down on the passengers that were outside. A black haired girl was sitting by the pool with her feet in the water. She had some head phones in her ears as she leaned her head back and her arms propped her up. Skylar had on a black and white bikini with skulls and on it. Ontop of her head lied some sunglasses to shield her eyes from the sun but they were not serving their purpose they were just there for a fashion accessory. Her head moved from side to side as the music coming from her earphones. Her feet wiggled in the water and it made little ripples.
A sigh came from the girls lips and her eyes were closed as her head pointed upwards. Skylar’s mind wandered as she thought about the cruise she was glad to be on it. She did not have to worry about anything not her parents worrying about what she was doing or all the stuff she got into. That was one of the main reasons her parents let her go on the cruise. To get her out of their hair, not that they didn’t like her they though given her some freedom for this long might calm her down but so far that wasn’t working. She loved this freedom it let her do whatever she wanted and that is what lead her to be by the pool today. It really was a nice day today to be out by the pool.

But it’s cool cause we’re just friends[/font][/size][/left] ------------ The sunlight poured in Luke's bedroom window, waking up the boy who had been in a deep sleep. He say up, rubbing his tired eyes and looked out the window. He was so lucky to be on this cruise, he loved it. So much better than being in the dreary, cold New York City. He was on a year-long cruise! Not many people got that chance. Getting up, he walked around the room, grabbing the necessary items for a day at the pool. He loved the pool. Swimming was one of Luke's favourite things. But maybe he should shower first...there were girls down there! And a whole year without meeting a single girl would be pretty depressing. So Lucas grabbed headed into the bathroom, humming quietly under his breath and showered quickly.
Twenty minutes later, he was on his way to the pool, the sun shining on the top of his head, his glasses perched on his face and a bag in his hand, containing his iPod, cell phone and towel. Oh, and sunscreen. Lucas sadly burned way to easily, and he had to apply sunscreen every hour, or he'd be a lobster. And lobsters weren't what people liked. Unless...they looked like lobsters too. The thought made Lucas chuckle as he placed his bag on a chair and looked around, wondering if there were any familiar faces.
Finally, he spotted someone. Skylar Michaels. A small smile crossed Luke's face. At least he wouldn't be completely alone. Lucas slipped off his flip flops and made his way over to her. "Hey," he said, sitting down and slipping his feet into the pool. The coolness felt nice compared to the beating sun overhead.

SKYLAR MICHAELS Well ill still say that you shine brighter than anyone Skylar heard someone speak through the sound of the music that played on her ipod. Her eyes fluttered open and with her right hand she pulled one of the headphones out of her ear, not wanting to be rude. She looked at him and a smile eased it’s way on to her face. “Hey!” she said happily greeting him. Lucas was her best friend’s twin brother and that was how she had met him. She practically grew up with the boy, and because of that he was a pretty good friend, or she liked to concider him a good friend. Skylar turned so she could look at him when she spoke, Skylar was always a fan of looking people in their eyes when you spoke to them.
Skylar let out a sigh and began to speak again. “I haven’t seen you around much since this whole cruise started. How you been?” she asked, her question mostly implied how he was likign the cruise and how he has been since he has been on the cruise.. Skylar had not seen him around but then again there were so much stuff to do on the cruise that they were probably both busy doing their own thing. But, so far as Skylar looked around from the place that she was sitting were to take a guess at how people are and if they were enjoying this she would say that they did. Skylar has deffinitely been good since she has been on this cruise. There has been tons of stuff to entertain this fun loving energetic care free girl. Plus now that she was at the pool and was seeing a familiar face that se knew made everything just the more better.
Skylar looked down at her pink ipod that lied next to eachother she picked it up and then looked and watched at the screen lit up she moved it just a tad lower. Once she dealt with that and the music was not blaring into the girls ear she looked up at him and waited for his answer to the question of how he has been.

But it’s cool cause we’re just friends [/font][/size][/left] ------------ Lucas moved his feet around in the water, causing it to ripple. He loved the water, swimming was amazing. His parents had signed him up for swimming lessons when he was young, and had loved it ever since. His parents liked to joke he was like a fish...which he kind of was. Minus the scales and everything. But really, once you got him in the water, it was hard to get him out. And he had a very large lung capacity too. Luke could hold his breath for like...a long time. Over a minute! As he was thinking about water and swimming and his love for it...he realized Skylar had asked him a question. Lucas blushed slightly, and angled his body towards her.
"Haven't seen you either." He laughed. "I haven't been doing much. Swimming, exploring the boat, making sure Holly doesn't get to crazy. The usual." Lucas told her, smiling. Looking after Holly was definitely a chore sometimes. At first, Lucas hadn't even wanted to go on this cruise. He was set for college, and had a few places to choose from. Then he realized...Holly...alone on a boat...not a good idea. So he had followed after her. He was a protective brother, despite Holly was 'older' than him...by only five minutes, but still. She always rubbed it in his face. Annoying, at times, but Luke knew he definitely acted older.
"Anyways, what have you been up too?" He asked, shaking himself from his thoughts once again. Luke had a tendency to drift off like that. Kind of annoying...but he couldn't help himself.

SKYLAR MICHAELS Well ill still say that you shine brighter than anyone Skylar let out a small laugh as he said that he had not seen her either. “I know, isn’t that a shame.” she said refering to how they had not seen eachother on the boat since the cruise started. Skylar listened to what he was saying and how he had to watch out for Holly. Skylar shook her head, really lucas having to keep an eye out for Holly must have been a real task. “Well that sounds like fun, especially watching out for Holly, you got your work cut out for you.” she said laughing again. They both knew that Holly was crazy but so was Skylar it was just their personality. She took lucas as a protective older brother, which reminded her much like her own family.
Skylar was the youngest in her family she had an older brother, Daniel, and he was always so protective. But, then again her whole family was always protective of her ever since high school. They knew their daughter/sister oh to well. Skylar would sneak out, or just simply walk out the front door and come home at odd hours in the morning. She did develop some bad habits and when her parents found out they became protective over her more than any normal parents really annoying. Her brother on the other hand was protective in that way as well trying to keep her out of trouble and out of messes. She respected him for that, i mean he loved her and cared about her and they were really good friends. They never fought, well they rarely fought and if they did it was over stupid brother and sister stuff. Skylar heard Lucas speak again and she moved herself away from her thoughts and focus on the question that he asked.
Lucas asked the question that she asked him what has she been up to. Skylar sighed and looked up at the blue sky and then she looked back at him. “well i have not been doing much either. I’ve explored the boat, talked with people, and now im by the pool.” she said with a nod of her head. Skylar moved her feet in the water and she lifted one leg out and you could hear the little droplets of water go back into the pool she put her leg back in the pool and she looked at him with a little smirk on her head. If you ever saw that smirk on Skylars face you knew something was going to happen. Skylar casually dipped her had in the pool and she twirled her hand around in the pool water for a few minutes. Skylar glanced at Lucas and then she splashed some water to his direction. little droplets of water went flying his way. Skylar let out a small laugh.

But it’s cool cause we’re just friends [/font][/size][/left] ------------ "Very big shame." Lucas laughed. It kind of was. Skylar was fun, except when she and Holly were together and drunk. Then that was definitely...something. On the occasions that Luke got drunk too though, it was pretty fun. He knew he would most likely be having some drunken adventures on this cruise ship. "Looking after Holly is like...looking after four year old triplets. Impossible." He explained, smiling. Well, maybe not that hard. Luke had gotten used to it...but still, it got hard sometimes. But he loved Holly, and she was his sister, so he put up with it. Skylar was kind of like his little sister too. Sometimes he even had to look out for her.
Lucas nodded as she told him about what she had been doing. Sounded pretty much the same as what he had done. "Fun." He laughed. He really hoped this cruise ship would become more entertaining. So far...it kind of wasn't. "Meet anyone interesting? Any guys?" Luke smirked at her, raising an eyebrow. This type of question didn't bother him. He'd been asking Skylar and Holly these questions for years. Well, sometimes it bothered him when Holly answer. Instant brother protection mode!
He gasped as the water hit him. It was pretty cold, despite the hot air around them. "Ohh, you're going to pay." Luke smirked, bending to cup water in his hands, then throwing it at her. He made sure it didn't go in the direction of her iPod though...that would be bad.

SKYLAR MICHAELS Well ill still say that you shine brighter than anyone Skylar laughed as he agreed with her “I’m glad that you agree with me.” she said as her laughter had began to die down. Skylar and Lucas have had some pretty fun times together and when the three of them are together, Holly, Lucas, and Skylar are together it definitely leads to funny moments. The funny moment usually tend to include the three of them going out and going clubbing their goal was to get Lucas drunk because that is when times really got pretty fun. Now that they are on a cruise with a bar she was sure that there would be a couple of those times. When those times come Lucas had better watch out for himself if he did not want to get drunk. “four year old triplets huh? well I’m pretty sure you could do it, you have done it so far.” she said. Although she did believe that he did have his hands full because sometimes he had to look out for her as well, and having to watch out for them both wow that must be hard.
She laughed at his reaction “I know, super duper fun.” she said with a sarcastic tone lingering in the girls voice. Skylar figured since this cruise just started that as the days went by it would get more entertaining as the days passed. Well Skylar knew for her that it would get more fun and if it did not then she would simply make some fun. And making some fun would be just what she was doing, fun. Skylar looked at him as he asked her a question, she was used to that question coming from him he asked this questions for years now and she was used to answering those questions. “Um...well as a matter of fact...” she said her voice trailing off and then she continued “I might have meet an interesting guy.” she said looking at him. She took in a breath getting ready to ask him that same question “And you? meet any girls?” she asked returning the smirk back to him. She asked lucas this question as well most of it was just to tease him but she was actually interested in what his answer would be.
Skylar laughed as he gasped “oh that was priceless.” she said. As soon as she heard she was going to pay her eyes went wide she didn’t think he would throw water her way, never mind she did think he would do that. As soon as he threw water in her direction she gasped to. As soon as the water hit her skin it was so cold. “oh, this means war.” she said the smirk still on her face. Skylar took out her earphones she did not want water to hit those. She put her ipod away in her bag and looked at him. She to cupped her hands in the water and threw it at him laughing. Skylar was thinking of trying to push him into the pool, but she would hold off on that till later.

But it’s cool cause we’re just friends [/font][/size][/left] ------------ Lucas grinned. "I always agree with you, Sky." He laughed. They had had some good times clubbing in the past. Like last year when he, Holly and Skylar had all gone out on their birthday. That had been crazy. Luke didn't remember much, other then dancing on the bar and making out with some girl. Holly liked to tease him about that night. Skylar, too. It wasn't one of his best moments...but it was pretty much the best memory. He really needed to cut loose more, that's what Holly was always telling him. Even his parents told him that. Maybe on this cruise he finally would. It wouldn't be easy though...Holly would have to help.
Lucas was...kind of surprised when Skylar had said she had met someone. And what was that feeling in his stomach? Jealousy...? No, it couldn't be! It had to be his brotherly protection over her. He was just worried that the guy was no good, that's all. At least he hoped that was it. "Oh, who is he?" He asked, a slight smirk playing on his lips as he looked over at her. "Is little Skylar going to get a new boyfriend?" Lucas said, chuckling. He shrugged at her next question. "Maybe, maybe not." He told her, the smirk growing bigger.
As Skylar threw the water at her he gasped again, and reached into the pool to splash her back. "You are so going down." Luke told her, glaring playfully at her. He made sure none of his valuables were around the pool, and knelt back down to splash her again. Standing up, Lucas advanced towards her, wrapping his arms around her waist like a giant hug. "Who's ready to go swimming?" He asked in a sing-song voice, picking Skylar up and holding her over the edge of the pool. "I think Skylar is!"

SKYLAR MICHAELS Well ill still say that you shine brighter than anyone Skylar smiled back “Cause you are a smart guy Lukey.” she said laughing a little. That was a little teasing nickname the girls had for him and she just loved to call him that at times. Sky lightly hit her leg and she had calmed down. Skylar’s mind had flashed back to one of their birthdays that moment was truely priceless. Why? Because for once Lucas was the one dancing on the bar and not the girls and he had made out with some random chick. Big mistake, because the two girls had never ever let him forget that night. Having lucas let loose was just great because he didn’t seem to care at all when he was drunk.
Skylar looked at him as she said her reply searching his face for any reaction. She didn’t really see any reaction on his face the only thing that she saw was the small smirk still glued to the boys face, she doubted that it would leave as long as they were on this subject. “Who is he?” she said repeating the question she thought, what would she say, she wanted to give an answer. She looked away from him biting her bottom lip “Uh...well. guess.” she said, she did not want to give out who it was and if he guessed there was a good chance she would tell him if he was right if he guessed correctly of course. But, she highly doubted he would guess. Skylar looked at him as he spoke about her maybe getting a new boyfriend. She shrugged “I dunno, i dont even know if this guy likes me.” she said. Then it was his turn to answer the question she had ask. Skylar felt her heart skip a beat she got that weird feeling, she looked surprised. Skylars eyes looked surprised and she looked away for a little bit because she didn’t want him to see that she was surprised because her eyes said all her emotions and she hated that. She looked back at him and the playful smirk reappeared on the girls lips. “oh really, tell me.” she said laughing “So will Lucas be getting a new girlfriend?” she asked laughing.
Skylar shook her head in disagreement “no i’m not.” she said. Skylar sort of screeched the water was so cold. With her hands she tried to hit the water away like she was swatting it, she actually looked ridiculous doing this. Skylar stopped as she noticed him getting up and he walked towards her putting his arms around her. Skylar quickly shook her head no “put me down lucas.” she said as she lighlty hit his arms. Although her choice of words might not have been the best.

It made him sound gay or something. Not that he didn't like gay people! They were cool...he just...didn't want people thinking he was gay. Sadly, he didn't have a bad nickname for Skylar, her name was just...to nice and pretty to be bad. Just like her. Wait...what? What had Lucas just thought? Nice and pretty...like her? Well, of course Skylar was pretty, no doubt about it but he usually didn't go around just thinking that. Maybe occasionally when they all went out and she was dressed up, but not just lounging around the pool like this. She was...she was practically his sister! And brothers were not supposed to think about their sisters that way. Unless, they were like...into incest or something. Which was gross.
Lucas thought about who Skylar might like, trying to ignore the odd feeling in his stomach. It couldn't be jealousy. It couldn't! It was just weird. Totally weird. And he didn't like it. Maybe Holly would have some answers... "Maybe...that guy we partied with once in New York?" Lucas asked, tilting his head to the side. "Isn't he like, older than you, Sky? Gross." He teased, playfully wrinkling his nose. "Why don't you just take a chance? Flirt with him, ask him out." Lucas told her, smiling. "We are on a cruise after all. Live a little." Ironic how he, Lucas was saying that when he barely ever let loose. "You'll have to wait and see if Lucas gets a girlfriend." He told her, sticking his tongue out playfully.
"Yes you are." He grinned, standing at the edge of the pool, holding Skylar over it. The water was nice and deep and of course, chilly. "Ready?" Lucas asked, smiling down at her. "One...two...three!" He yelled, not throwing her, but jumping in with her still in his arms. He didn't let her go as the sank to the bottom, and Luke tried not to laugh. Other wise, he'd have water up his nose. He resurfaced a few seconds later, knowing she couldn't hold her breath as long as him. "Cold?" Luke asked, smirking and shaking his head so the water in his hair sprayed everywhere.

SKYLAR MICHAELS Well ill still say that you shine brighter than anyone “Aw...why not, i like that nickname.” she said as she looked at him as he swatted her arm gently. Skylar hit his arm gently back, she giggled at the way he told her not to call him that. Sky was thankful that no one had an annoying nickname for her, her name was just Skylar you can’t make something out of that. If you even tried it came out not sounding right. See Lucas on the other had had tones of possibilities well maybe just a couple Luke, and Lukey. A sigh escaped the girls lips as she relished the moment for a while. Skylar looked at him “fine, if you dont want me to then i wont.” she said with fake sadness in her voice.
Skylar watched as he thought a smile grew on the girls face as she watched him try and guess. She knew that he probably would not guess and she thought it was funny watching him. See, the guy that she liked or at least she thinks she might like was sitting right next to her right now. She has been having some mixed feelings towards him right now, they were like brother and sister and a sister liking a brother was just nasty you dont do that. But they were not really brother and sister and the feeling she just couldn’t describe it. “The guy we partied with in New York?” she said in a questioning tone, that was a foggy memory then he mentioned the older thing “Oh no! not that guy. the guy is around my age.” she said laughing. As she gave him advice skylar raised an eyebrow, now she felt a little weird, poor guy he didn’t know. “take a chance, i dunno? live a little.” she said looking at him that was funny, and then she heard his reply. “well why dont you take your own advice with this girl.” she said trying to see what he would say to that. She watched as he stuck his tounge out and she laughed and gave her head a small shake.
She shook her head no again “no im not.” she said, that water was freezing and she was not looking forward to getting inside it fully. As she asked if she was ready she just shook her head but it was no use she knew she was going to end up in that water sooner or later. He started counting down and as soon as she hit three she realized he didn’t let her go and he jumped in with her. As soon as she hit the water she could feel tiny goosebumps emerge on her skin. They resurfaced and she took a breath as she straightened her hair. Soon after she straightened it she was welcomed with water as he shook his head allowing water to spray everywhere. “yes, it’s cold.” she said looking at him.

He said, wrapping his arms around her waist and giving it a squeeze before pulling away. That hug...that hug had made him feel tingly. The kind of tingling feeling he got in the past when he liked a girl. Oh this was either very bad or very good. Most likely bad. Lucas shook himself out of those thoughts and frowned at her hurt expression, even though he knew she was faking it. "Aww, poor, Skylar. Fine. You can call me Lukey." He told her, ruffling her hair. What was he doing now...looking for any excuse to touch her? "But only when we're alone. Or drunk." Lukey...er, Luke said.
Lucas was relieved she didn't like that guy. He was not the nicest guy out there. And he had to look out for Skylar, cause, well she was Holly's best friend. And his good friend. So...it was like his duty! At least, that's what he tried to tell him. Even though deep down, he knew he liked her. But he couldn't let her know. What if it ruined their friendship? What if one of them ended up heartbroken, and Holly got all pissed at the other? That wouldn't be good. Holly pissed off was kind of scary. Thank god it didn't happen too often. "Eighteen? Our age...hm." Lucas thought, but his mind was drawing a blank. "Is he on the cruise?" He asked, tilting his head to the side. He thought about if he should take a chance...it was risky. "Maybe I will." He shrugged. "I'll talk to Holly about it first." Luke said, flashing her a smile.
He laughed as he made her hair all wet again. "Oops?" Luke said, swimming over and placing her on the side of the pool. She was so light to him. Like a feather. Well, she was probably like that to most, actually. Skylar was a pretty petite girl. It was cute... He stayed in the water though, finally getting used to the temperature. Luke leaned on the side of the pool, his lower half still in the water. "So." He said, looking up at Skylar. "What now?"

SKYLAR MICHAELS Well ill still say that you shine brighter than anyone “your welcome.” she said Skylar watched as he wrapped his arms around her waist in a hug and said that she is the best. As he hugged her Skylar wrapped her arms around him returning the hug. “aw. you’re pretty cool to.” she said with a smile. Skylar looked at him silently hoping her sad and hurt expression would work, he probably knew it was fake to. When he said that she could call him lukey she smiled then he reached over an ruffled her hair. She had a surprised look on her face and she looked at him and she ran her fingers through her hair, fixing it. Then he went on during the times when she was allowed to call him lukey. She nodded in agreement “fine. although if im drunk i dont know what name i would call you.” she said with a shrug, it depended on how bad she was. But, she gave him a fair warning.
Skylar was still shocked that he mentioned that other guy, she wouldn’t like him he was mean and weird, so she had quickly dismissed that one. Skylar watched him continue it looked like he was having a hard time. Skylar did not know. She kept having mixed feelings towards him, they are friends she told herself. Skylar was always afraid of getting hurt so she was being cautious about this. Also, what if it ruined their friendship, that would not be good. Skylar was taken out of her thoughts when he asked a question. “yeah, he is eighteen.” she said then another one poped up is he on the cruise. Skylar took a breath and ran her fingers through her hair again. “yeah, he’ on the cruise.” as soon as that left her mouth she wondered if that hint was a bit of a give away. How many eighteen year olds are on this cruise? she didn’t know the answer. Skylar looked at him with her eyebrows raised and then nodded “thats good.” she said.
Skylar nodded as he said oops and she let out a small laugh. She was placed on the side of the pool, she was so light that anyone could probably do that and she was pretty small in the height area as well. Skylar looked at him biting his bottom lip “oh oh i got an idea.” she said, she wanted pay back for him getting her in the water, of course she was being playful. Skylar made her way over to hi baring the cold water she would soon get used to. Now, hopefully this wouldn’t be to hard. “you better hold your breath.” she said and quickly after that she pushed him underwater, it easier when you do it by surprise like she did.

Ugh, why did he have to think this? Skylar was his friend! His good friend. And thinking about her like this was just messing him up. He had never really thought about her before. Well, okay, he had. Back when they had been like, fifteen he had had a crush on her. Only for like, a month though! Then he got a girlfriend, and had kind of pushed the feelings away. Truthfully, Luke had been kind of afraid to like her. Cause she was his friend and stuff. He wondered if he should tell Holly...probably not.
He could also tell she was surprised he had mentioned that one guy. Why? Luke did not know. He was a guy, and guys did not take hints well. He knew Skylar was kind of afraid of rejection, so she probably wouldn't ask this guy out. Just like Lucas...he couldn't stand rejection. Most of the girlfriend had had, had asked him out. Kind of embarrassing, but oh well. He was not that bad after the relationship started...just a little shy. He and Skylar would be kind of good together. Or kind of bad. Probably bad, since they'd both be shy. "I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for eighteen year old guys." He smiled. Poor boy, couldn't even tell she was talking about him. Hopefully he'd know soon...
Lucas watched her, wondering what she was about to do. He really couldn't tell. Kiss him? Yeah right. He even blushed at the thought of it. Poor boy...really did need to figure out this situation before he went crazy. "What are you doing?" He asked, laughing, and then she pushed him under. Luckily, Lucas got a breath in, and well, he could hold his breath for awhile, so he stayed under for a minute, a small smile on his face, before he tugged on Skylar's ankle, tugging her under after him.

SKYLAR MICHAELS Well ill still say that you shine brighter than anyone Skylar looked at him as he let out a chuckle. She kept running her fingers through her black hair until it was fine and not so ruined after her ruffled it up. So many things were going on in the eighteen year olds head. She was confused. She had this major fear of rejection, but that didn’t stop her from having relationships. She has had a few boyfriends but it took a while for her to open up to them. With Lucas even though they are good friends she could not bring herself to tell him for that reason, they are good friends. What if he did not like her in that way it could ruin everything and she didn’t want that. Then there was that advice he gave, give it a shot flirt with him and ask him out. Skylar shook her head to the thought. She could do that but, she just would not know how he would react to that. Maybe she could find a way, just maybe. Skylar came out of her thoughts as he began to speak “Yeah, i think you’ll just have to.” she said with a small laugh. She wondered if he would question what she was laughing about, probably not. Boys were never good with hint like that. Although if he did somehow figure out that it was him, what would happen. Also if they went out what would happen would it be good or bad? she had no clue, she did not really know.
Skylar made her way over to him. She had a good idea dunk him into the water, payback. She did not really notice that he was blushing it was a slight pink color. Once she made it and was standing right next to him he asked a question. She did not answer and she just pushed him under. He didn’t seem to panic and he stayed under for a while, and she felt something pull at her ankle and she was pulled in. If you could see her face it was in utter surprise. she gasped and took a breath as she went under. Skylar could not hold her breath for very long so she would have to come up soon after about a minute passed by. Man, she was not expecting that.
