Drifting Away-OPEN

The door slammed behind a small figured girl and she quickly looked around making sure she didn't wake anyone up. With a sigh Alexandria walked along the railing silently as her grey eyes stayed glued on the water lapping on the side of the ship. Her lips held a thin line as she continued to walk along the railing letting the moon and stars be her only source of light. Really there wasn't anything on her mind that was keeping her awake or any problems that she was having. This really was probably a normal thing for Alex, but she rarely ever actually leaves her room when this happens.

Bright flashing lights caught the corner of her eye causing her to stop walking and her head to turn. The loud sounds and flashing lights of the arcade always seemed to capture her attention no matter how much she knows that she should turn away, but of course that didn't stop her from drifting over to the loud machines and flashing lights calling kids names. Alexandria wandered aimlessly past all of the buzzing machines while her fingers grazed over each box calmly. For once the place seem empty, but then of course it was past most kids bed times except for the two video game junkies that were currently shooting ninjas or something weird. Guns had never been big on Alex's list and she jumps every time she hears the firing. This time was no different as the boys continued to shoot shit furiously.

Alex's nose twitched disapprovingly as she jumped a little once again. Normally by this time she would have drifted off and started to rub her wrists, but as her eyes kept dashing from bright video game to the next she had no time to drift off. Soon enough her coins were diving into a machine and the noises were raging to life. It didn't take long for the screen to pulse GAME OVER in large letters though due to her constant jumping it probably wasn't helping her while she tried to avoid ghosts and grab the fruit. Soon enough though the guns shots ended and her jumping stopped. Alex just let a breath out as she heard the two male voices exiting the arcade and disappearing down the hall. She wasn't sure where they were going, but she wasn't going to worry about it either as she was already being distracted by the lights or sounds of the arcade once more.

Like releasing a kid in a candy store she continued to walk around with large eyes not bothering to resist grazing her fingers over the different games as they shouted at her absently greedily trying to steal her money in their wasted games. As greedy as they maybe though they still had a knack for stealing her money with ease as she continued to lose games and continued to lost her money while losing those stupid games. She never spent very long at one game as new lights and new sounds always caught her attention.

She wasn't like normal girls you would see wondering around. She wasn't the preppy I'm better than you, but she wasn't the tomboy, don't mess with me. She wasn't even the goth I love black. She wouldn't really call herself a normal person either. She was a little bit crazy and independent to be normal. In fact, the sound of the word normal made her gag. She found that normal was boring, a bunch of clones of everyone around. Besides, normal was only a matter of opinion anyways. What was normal? Even all of this, she had been having a very complicated and sad, happy, and dramtic life. She was starting to get use to the cruise and none of it's drama, since she didn't talk to people much.

She couldn't really describe what made her go to the arcade in the middle of the night. Maybe it was that she needed to blow off some stem. She was horrible at video games, but she found it thrilling and exciting. Her favorite was the racing car games, since it was the only thing she could seem to win at everyonce in a while. She was terrible at shooting things, since she had bad aim, but it was still fun to laugh at herself all the more.

Maybe the reason she went in the middle of the night was because less people were there to watch her fail in everything she did. Yes, that had to be the right reason. It was the one that made sense to her the most. Whatever the crazy things going inside her head, weither it was the voices or her invisible parrott on her shoulder, she walked down to the arcade. She spotted the lights from far away in the silent of the night.

As she approached, you could see her face a little more clearly. She had a nice flawless face with blond curls bouncing as she walked. Her jeans were old and worn out, but there were a good pair of jeans she used often. They had some holes she put in herself and a light color in the front comared to the sides. She had a very nice red shirt on with a ribbon just below her breastline. Some people said that this made one look pregnant, but she was one of the few people that could pull it off. Her lips had a soft lip gloss on them that seemed like she was wearing other makeup, when she wasn't.

Not to her surprise, there was very few people here. Some of them looked really good at what they did, and there was a random couple playing something together. As Emily walked past, she crinkled her nose in disgust as vodka filled her nose. No wonder they were down here, hiding from any adult that may catch them. They looked pretty first class, which, again, was no surprise to her. She wasn't saying anything to first class, but the most of them seemed to go to more parties, and have more drinks with them then anyone else. But she couldn't really judge since she she saw them littler.

Her brown eyes darted around at all the lights and sounds everything was making. There was a couple that said 'Game Over' or they were demenstrating how the game worked, but all of them were attratcing Emily to try them. Though they were doing such thing, Emily heard something else, and directed toward that, and then the process would repeat itself. Not paying attention, she ran into someone. "Sorry." She said, trying not to lose her balance.

She observed the person in front of her. In the blinking lights, it was hard to determine her color features, but she could see the overal featues on her, including a round, strong face with dark hair and light eyes.
